These is an authentic Queensryche 'Operation Mindcrime' first pressing club CD
by EMI Records from 1988 in mint condition. It is all original and complete
with lyric sheet/cover. To complete the collector's set, I have added from my
personal collection my VHS video of Operation Mindcrime from EMI Video in 1989
also in mint condition and complete with the lyric book inside. Operation:
Mindcrime is the third studio album by the American heavy metal band
Queensrÿche. Originally released on May 3, 1988, the album was reissued on May
6, 2003, with two bonus tracks, and again in 2006 as a deluxe box set.
Operation: Mindcrime is both a concept album and a rock opera. It's story
follows Nikki, a drug addict who becomes disillusioned with the corrupt society
of his time and reluctantly becomes involved with a revolutionary group as an
assassin of political leaders. In January 1989, it ranked at No. 34 on Kerrang!
magazine's "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time". Operation: Mindcrime
was Queensrÿche's breakthrough album, reaching at number 50 on the Billboard
200 while its singles "Eyes of a Stranger" and "I Don't Believe in Love" served
as the band's first charting hits in the United States. The album was certified
by the RIAA as gold in early 1989, and was certified as platinum two years
later in 1991. It's storyline is reality based and rings so true today with
everything that is happening in the world; you have an evil, power hungry
misanthrope trying to take over a democracy for his own gain using political
platitudes to convince morons who can't think for themselves that their
country's inheritance is being given away to foreigners and all the elections
are fraudulent while an equally corrupt opposition group of power hungry
criminals try to do the same thing. As always, the real losers are the poor
citizens of the country. This gives rise to de-evolutionary radical groups who
want to overthrow the government before there is nothing left to overthrow. In
this case, it's difficult to tell the radicals from the mainstream politicians,
and the good from the evil. All this make this a very timely collector's piece
to grace your audio and video collection; it is a tale of timeless classic good
vs evil(but who is whom?) Shipping is by USPS to the continental US only.
Thanks very much for looking and listening.
