South American Multi Gourd and Woven Thread Rattle

Vintage Amazonian Gourd Rattle. A fun double gourd rattle with multiple
threads woven around the handle in green red and yellow wool with a pom-pom
tassel in green and yellow at the top. It also has some Amazon Rainforest seed
pods tied between each gourd to enhance the wonderful sound.
The sound from this rattle is created from small seeds or pebbles enclosed in
the gourds for a lovely rhythmic and harmonious sound, it would sound great
played by someone with good tempo and rhythm.
This wonderful piece of ethnic folk art has a tribal look, with each gourd
having an incised tribal like design burned into it.
The gourds measures approximately 3.5” inches for the larger and 2.5” inches
for the smaller, together with the stick handle it measures approximately 12”
inches in length. It is great vintage condition.
It would make a great fun musical instrument for a kid or a person interested
in percussion or music in general.
