Mexican Carved and Painted Gourd Maracas Set

Vintage Mexican Carved Wooden Maracas Set. A sweet little set of handmade and
hand painted maracas in a lovely shade of dark metallic or electric blue with
accents of black on the handle tips. They also have etched into the wood some
stylized flowers which look like cherry blossom, these have small splashes of
pink painted onto the petals.
The maracas are made from wood but have small seeds inside the hollowed
interior section. They have an egg like shape and make a soft almost whisper
like sound, a very soothing and rhythmic sound indeed.
This set is in very nice vintage condition, some age scratches, scuffs and
scrapes, but still very attractive. They measures approximately 7” inches long
and 2” inches at the widest point. They would be a fabulous addition for small
music group, fun for a kids playroom (as they are not too terribly loud), they
could be added to a collection of ethnic musical instruments or displayed in a
collection of vintage Mexican Folk Art or put with vintage Mexican pottery.
