Small bamboo (transverse) flute tuned in the beautiful Japanese scale akebono.
Its very moody and and have that special shakuhachi-feel to it. It is very
easy for beginners and excels at improvisation.

Akebono in A#

How to play it:
It is played like a western flute, blown from the side and held horizontally.
It requires a little practice to get comfortable playing such an instrument.
It is possible to 'bend' notes by sliding your finger off the hole and you can
achieve
a similar effect by rolling the flute
It has a reach of 1,5 octaves.
There's 4 fingerholes on top.
Cover the holes with the pad of the fingers, not the fingertips.

The flute is made out of Phyllostachys Vivax bamboo from my local bamboo
groove.
Collected by me, firetreated, oiled and with protective bindings.
